My Journey to a Fit and Healthy Body

When I was younger, getting in shape was not a problem. I would just need to do a few sit-ups in the morning and my tummy will stay small. I can eat anything and all the foods that I crave for without adding so much pounds to my weight.

When I went in college, in order to stay in good shape, I did workout a few times in a week. Working out has made my body more active and energetic. It felt great. Not only that my body became firm and looked healthy but I became more confident too. After every workout, I made sure to drink a protein drink or shake in order to protect my muscles and to have faster results.


Protein is a good nutrient for our muscles. When working out, it is the best nutrient to take in. It is necessary in maintaining healthy muscles. Without protein in our body, the body's muscle mass may decrease resulting to weakness. Protein provides energy to the body which helps us to be active and prevent us from becoming fatigued. However, it is necessary to take note that protein should be taken with enough carbohydrates. If the body has too much protein and too few carbohydrates, it forms ketones and it is released into the blood. This condition results to ketosis which leads to fatigue and nausea. If this condition continues, it is not healthy anymore for the body.

Protein comes in different kinds one of which is whey protein. Whey protein is beneficial to the body in bodybuilding. It is reported that whey protein is extremely effective in getting into the body's bloodstream quickly. It is believed that it is good to be taken before or after your workout.

Another is casein protein. It is a great addition to your everyday workout. This kind of protein helps the body in preventing the breakdown of muscle mass and tissue. When casein protein is taken with whey protein, your body will surely achieve a well-developed and more improved physique.
