How Much Better Can You Look Next Summer?

Losing those extra pounds overnight is not possible, unfortunately. They creeped up on you so slowly that you scarcely realized them, until all of your clothes were too tight and you started avoiding anyone with a camera. By making a plan now, going into fall, and sticking with it, you can significantly affect your health in just a few short months. As the leaves change colors and fall, why not commit yourself to the goal that next summer, it will be you on the beach in a skimpy swimsuit?
Putting together your fitness plan is easy, and complicating things does not guarantee better results. In fact, buying lots of books, tapes, and other ‘motivational’ things only guarantees success for one person- the marketer of those products. In fact, I believe that most people are successful when things are kept as simple as possible, and they can incorporate their new healthier eating pland and exercise into their everyday lives with a minimum of confusion.
Here are some tips that have helped many people who have lost a significant amount of weight and keep it off:
-Eliminate unhealthy trans-fats. These unnatural processed fats keep you fat, and are actually poison in your system.
-Up your fruit and vegetable intake. Strive for five servings daily. These keep you full and provide lots of needed vitamins, minerals, and fiber.
-Cut down or cut out empty calories. Processed white bread, sodas, white flour, and sugar are easily converted to sugar in your body, and stored as fat if not used up by exercise. Replace them with healthy alternatives like whole grains, water, and stevia or guava as sweeteners.
-Start lifting some weights. Women sometimes are skeptical, but it is key to burning fat. Your body’s muscle tissues burn fat quicker, even while resting. You will not look manly, just sleek and streamlined.
-Cardio exercise (walking, jogging, biking, stair climbing) gets your heart pumping and ups your lung’s capacity to get oxygen to your muscles and blood.
-Every time your clothes get too big, give them away--there is no going back. Buy yourself some new skinny jeans instead.
-Enjoy yourself and get comfortable in your thinner body. Show off all your work- it will only motivate you to work harder.
Are you ready? You have lots of time to get your new "beach body" together-- regardless of the shape you are currently in. Do not sit and watch life next summer -be part of the game!
